As part of the renovation of the Wijkertunnel, we dismantled, blasted, inspected, repaired, recoated and reinstalled a total of 14 traffic gantries in 2024.
All work was carried out during nights and weekends to minimize disruption for road users.
The gantries had substantial dimensions, with lengths up to 37 meters and weights of up to approximately 10 tonnes. This required careful preparation, a tight schedule and a safe execution in an environment where accessibility and traffic safety were key at all times.
Within this project, we managed the entire process: from dismantling and transport to inspection, repair, preservation and reinstallation on site. By handling the project integrally, we ensured the quality of the existing structures and contributed to a safe and durable reinstatement.
Projects like this highlight the importance of flexibility, craftsmanship and strong coordination. Working within limited time windows, combined with night operations and heavy steel structures, makes this a strong example of specialist steelwork within infrastructure.
