The delivery and partial assembly of the so-called “crane legs”. For Block B these are completely assembled columns made of steel and for Block E3 and H the steelwork was used as aesthetic cladding of prefabricated concrete elements. For all three blocks, these “crane legs” make these buildings unique and are a nod to the industrial environment.
All the steelwork is provided with a multi-layer coating, suitable for maritime applications.
Handelskade Nijmegen is the place where the building of the daily newspaper De Gelderlander used to be located. This location is close to the centre of Nijmegen and is situated directly on the harbour. Handelskade is the sub-plan in the Waalfront area development, a collaboration between the municipality of Nijmegen and BPD. Handelskade consists of a total of 534 apartments, approximately 2,800m² of commercial space and a two-storey parking garage.
